Add sparkle to the season at Six Senses Crans-Montana

October 23, 2023 - The Swiss Alps are a snow-capped wonderland over Christmas and New Year, and Six Senses Crans-Montana is planning to celebrate its first festive season in style. With 33 extra rooms opening, you’ll have plenty of choice as to where to lay your head, from a slope-side position with a balcony facing the Alpine forest, up to a three-bedroom apartment that offers a homely and peaceful family stay.

Bringing the family

For many, Christmas time is family time. We add sparkle to the season with our Christmas tree lighting ceremonies and themed movie nights. We’ve even had word we may get a visit from you know who! Suitable for all ages, our Return to the Roots experience is a serene and snowy moment in nature with a guided walk at dusk with the magic of the mountains all around you. Homemade hot chocolate and local gingerbread will keep you toasty. A little more adventurous is our guided sunset snowshoe hike to explore a “Mayen”, a traditional Alpine hut used for farming and dairy production. Enjoy a delicious traditional fondue and warm tea to restore energy and, just as night falls, sleigh your way back down the mountain guided by headlamps.

You’re just a short walk from Crans itself, a beautiful setting for cultural events and music festivals, including the Classics New Year’s Gala Concert and Family Show on January 1 and 2, respectively.

From December 8, the Lantern path immerses little ones into the legend of “The Shepherd and the Bella Lui Star” while celebrating the magic of winter lights in the mountains. At around 2 kilometers long, the path is family-friendly, and storytellers share fabulous mountain legends with you along the way. You can also pick up a treasure hunt pack at the tourist office and solve the clues and riddles to find your way to the light. The most enchanting time to do it is in the early evening, just as it is getting dark.

Escaping the family

With work emails coming to a thankful stop, many people choose the Christmas period to escape … full stop! For winter sports aficionados, we offer special experiences and guided adventures to fill your days with fun and laughter, from paragliding with skis to walking with yaks.

After the adrenaline comes the après-ski. Recount (and embellish) your adventures over a vin chaud accompanied by live music on our Wild Cabin Terrace before heading to Six Senses Spa for recovery and relaxation. The thermal journey offers four saunas and a cold plunge. Two therapists soothe tired limbs in the Stretch Pod. Locally inspired treatments include such delights as the 120-minute Journey to Restore and nourishing Swiss Chocolate Wrap. The Biohack Recovery Lounge is a must-try for massage loungers, muscle recovery, and ski-burned skin soothing. What’s not to love?

Now let’s eat!

The Swiss Alps are synonymous with gourmet dining. From festive feasts to intimate dining experiences, we have some beautiful meals planned. Kicking off with Christmas and carols and celebrating right through to our New Year’s celebrations and after-party in our Wild Cabin, we’ll do our best to create unforgettable moments whether you’re a solo explorer, couple, family, or group.
