October 19, 2021 - A day on pristine pistes, an après-spa sanctuary to relieve sore muscles and dinner in the on-site Sumosan Japanese fusion restaurant: Six Senses Residences Courchevel is the antithesis of the traditional heavy-food ski trip.
Offering up to five bedrooms, wine cellars, open fireplaces, hammams and private treatment rooms, large groups and families will enjoy all the privacy of a private home in the heart of prestigious Courchevel 1850, with the slopes within easy reach.
All Six Senses Residences Courchevel accommodations feature quintessential Alpine views and secure covered parking near to the village and slopes. They come fully equipped with comfy handmade Naturalmat organic mattresses, open-plan kitchens, one bathroom per bedroom, large seating areas and balconies to create a memorable winter holiday home for friends and family. The interiors and furniture collection designed by Morpheus & Co blend a sleek and contemporary style with traditional mountain influences and ultra-soft furnishings. For larger groups, the five-bedroom Prestige Penthouse sleeps 10 and includes a central fireplace, cinema room and the pinnacle of mountain views across the Valley plus direct access to Six Senses Spa.
Inspired by the organic shapes of snow waves, the design of Six Senses Spa Courchevel uses biophilic principles to reestablish the bond with nature and reenergize sore legs after an exhilarating day on the slopes. Facilities-wise, there are five treatment rooms, a large indoor pool with lounge chairs, Alchemy Bar, Vitality Area with sauna, steam and Kneipp foot therapy, separate relaxation lounge, manicure and pedicure station, juice bar, gym and studio for wellness classes, and a snowy outdoor hot tub.
The spa also administers a range of specific treatments tailored to outdoor activities and snow sports. Visiting Practitioner Nikos Papoutsakis will be in residency to smooth out niggles and maximize enjoyment on the slopes through Kinesiology, physiotherapy and movement rehabilitation. Guests looking for a speedy turnaround after a hard day on the slopes can combine a restorative Russian deep tissue massage with Normatec leg compression therapy to enhance blood flow and lymphatic fluid removal. To counteract the effects of sun and wind on the face, a 30-minute skin booster facial turns down the glow before heading out for après-ski.
The 24-hour residential concierge is on hand to book an extensive range of services, including a ski shuttle service, childcare and lift passes. There’s also a dedicated lodge and concierge at the main La Croisette lift. Offering heated boot racks and a helping hand with ski equipment, it is just next to the main boutiques and apéro bars. A rental shop is also located next to the reception with the latest equipment to purchase or rent.
On the ground floor, the multi award-winning restaurant Sumosan serves up Japanese salmon rice pizza and sushi torched table-side, a welcome antidote to the traditional fondue and raclette, with dishes exclusive to this Alpine outpost. In-residence dining can be arranged by our concierge team working with some of the best chefs around, proposing delicious menus to suit your dietary requirements and personal preferences.
From groomed pistes to steep couloirs at the top of La Saulire and the wild and winding Chapelets red run with picture postcard views, snow lovers are spoiled for choice when the flakes fall. Six Senses Residences Courchevel’s prime location in the middle of the largest ski area in the world also means everything from night-skiing to snow scootering and adrenalin-fueled luge tracks are on the doorstep. Another bucket-list experience is driving the giant piste basher to prepare for the perfect carve the next day. The exhilaration continues in the skies, with helicopter tours and hot air balloon flights rising above the mountain tops.
Adults are not the only ones having all the fun. For teens and keen freestylers, the Family Park is a wonderland of rails, tables and jumps, moguls, boardercross, a big air bag and more. New for this season, Six Senses Residences Courchevel is also offering a host of children’s activities, including forest hikes, mountain yoga, aqua fit and fun, breathe and stretch, and jump rope in the fitness studio.
Six Senses Residences Courchevel will be ready to welcome guests for the winter season from December 11, 2021. Courchevel 1850 is 2 hours 30 minutes from Geneva, 60 minutes from Chambrey Airport, or 2 hours 15 minutes from Lyon Saint-Exupery. Easy transfers to and from Courchevel Altiport or Heliport can also be arranged.
